Biggest Issue with Pro Sports

Like I talked about yesterday with college sports, there are a lot of issues with pro sports. One of the biggest issues that they face today is for a lot of people, the inability to go. Unless you are a fan of teams like the Cavs or Bucs, tickets are EXPENSIVE! While sure, tickets aren’t the primary way teams make money, what good is a team if their arena is empty. Pro sporting events are now more like corporate events. I am not saying that tickets have to be cheap per say, but how much better would sports be if every stadium was like Arrowhead of CenturyLink Field. College atmospheres are so much better than pro. For example, a couple years ago I went to Miami for Christmas and my parents and I went to a Heat game vs. Brooklyn. We were in the upper sections and the tickets were around $200 per person. This was after Lebron left Miami as well. Some sports are better than others, but for the most part it depends on the team. Dodger tickets aren’t terrible and Anaheim Ducks tickets aren’t bad. But Yankees tickets or New York Rangers tickets are CRAZY. I think that it is important for teams to make tickets less expensive so more people can go. I understand it’s a business, but more butts in seats means more people visiting the team store and more people buying concessions. If tickets were a bit less expensive it would benefit the team and the customer.
